Qingdao Customs seized more than 240 tons of shipments and prohibited the import of waste aluminum slag

The reporter learned from the Qingdao Customs on the 19th that Huangdao Customs, a subordinate of Qingdao Customs, recently seized 247.1 tons of waste aluminum slag that was banned from import. It has been returned from Qingdao Qianwan Port terminal in its original condition.

It is understood that waste aluminum slag belongs to the solid waste that the country bans imports. The involved company smuggled and imported waste aluminium slag produced during the smelting process purchased from foreign countries through the production of false documents and falsely reported product names, for a total of 11 containers.

According to relevant officials of the Qingdao Customs, these hazardous aluminum scrap slags exceeded national standards. If smuggled into the country for re-industrial treatment, it would seriously pollute the air, water, soil and other ecological environment, affecting the health of the people.

Since this year, Huangdao Customs has returned more than 40 batches of solid waste such as waste plastics, waste paper and waste slag, etc. over 3,000 tons.
