In the initial four years, the amount of bauxite mining gradually increased from the initial 2 million tons/year and stabilized at 6 million tons/year, and the government approved the exploitation of 10 million tons/year.
The first batch of 60,000 tons of bauxite was purchased by Xinfa Group, which is one of the largest integrated aluminum companies in China and has alumina plants and electrolytic aluminum plants in Shandong, Shanxi, Guangxi and Xinjiang. Metro and Citigroup have a four-year contractual offtake agreement that supplies 1 million tons in the first year and 2 million tons in the next three years.
