The American Aluminum Industry Started Earlier
The American aluminum industry started earlier. There is a huge amount of aluminum reserves in the country and there are plenty of waste aluminum resources. According to statistics of related agencies in the United States, in 2016, the output of recycled aluminum in the United States was approximately 4.21 million tons, of which 44% came from the recycling of old aluminum scrap. In addition to its domestic use, the United States also exports a large amount of aluminum scrap and is the world’s largest exporter of aluminum scrap. According to statistics of the International Trade Organization, in 2017, the United States exported 1.325 million tons of aluminum scrap, amounting to 2.25 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for more than 16% of the total global aluminum export trade volume. China is the largest destination for aluminum scrap exports in the United States. In 2017, China’s scrap aluminum imports from the United States accounted for 31.2% of total US aluminum exports.
